COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Anatomy & Physiology is the study of the structure and function of the human body. Students will explore the organization of the body, major body systems, and how they work together to maintain life. Through lecture, lab, models, diagrams, and technology, students will develop a solid understanding of the human body and apply this knowledge to real- world healthcare scenarios.

EXPECTED COURSE OUTCOMES:
- Use anatomical position, directional terms, body planes, cavities, and regional terminology accurately.
- Explain levels of organization and relate cell and tissue structure to function.
- Analyze how body systems interact to maintain homeostasis and predict effects of disruption.
- Identify major structures and explain functions of the integumentary, skeletal, muscular, nervous, endocrine, cardiovascular, lymphatic/immune, respiratory, digestive, urinary, and reproductive systems.
- Use models, diagrams, specimens, and appropriate technology to investigate anatomical and physiological relationships.
- Apply scientific reasoning to health conditions, case studies, and real-world healthcare scenarios.
- Demonstrate safe laboratory practices, accurate measurement, ethical conduct, collaboration, and scientific communication.
- Use appropriate medical and scientific terminology when describing body structures, processes, disorders, and treatments.
- Integrate knowledge across body systems in cumulative projects, practical assessments, and clinical-style problem solving.
