LISD Parents & Guardians,

This message is to inform you that there has been one confirmed student case and three confirmed staff member cases of COVID-19 at Lovelady Elementary. We have completed the contact tracing protocol and reporting requirements. Any individuals determined to have met the close contact guidelines and required to quarantine have been notified by phone.  Any activities deemed necessary to be cancelled after the tracing investigation was completed, have been cancelled for the required period of time.

“Close contact” is defined by TEA as:
a. being directly exposed to infectious secretions (e.g., being coughed on); or
b. being within 6 feet for a largely uninterrupted or sustained extended contact period throughout the course of a day of approximately 15 minutes; however, additional factors like case/contact masking (i.e., both the infectious individual and the potential close contact have been consistently and properly masked), ventilation, presence of dividers, and case symptomatology may affect this determination.

The individuals will not be permitted to return to campus until CDC guidelines have been met, as well as being cleared to return by a physician.

Following our planned COVID-19 response, local health authorities will be notified and the elementary campus has been thoroughly sanitized.

We want to remind parents of the importance of completing the COVID-19 screenings prior to sending your children to school.  Self-screening and following the guidance at school for our staff and students as well as spectators at our UIL events is imperative in our efforts to mitigate the spread of this virus.  Lovelady ISD is committed to doing everything necessary to keep our schools open and kids participating in extracurricular activities.  Please continue to do your part in keeping our community safe.
